Caro Luigi (contento?) è d’obbligo fare alcune puntualizzazioni.

1) La Sciabola d’Oro: No, a me non sembra affatto un buon sistema per reclutare i Capi. Può darsi che quello in vigore nell’Esercito sia persino peggiore, d’accordo. Ma con la Sciabola d’Oro si dà a un ragazzino la certezza di una brillante carriera, e a tanti altri la certezza diametralmente opposta, che loro, ai gradi alti non ci arriveranno mai. Così, il primo è eccessivamente sicuro di sé, e non farà nulla per mettere a rischio il ventre di vacca dove si trova. Gli altri, giunti al grado di Tenente di Vascello, e sapendo di non essere predestinati all’Ammiragliato, lasceranno la Marina per più redditizi impieghi civili. La Sciabola d’Oro, cioè tutto il sistema selettivo in vigore all'Accademia Navale, è un invito al conformismo per uno, ed è terribilmente demotivante per gli altri.

2) “Perché dopo il corso non ho scelto un incarico più operativo”? E cosa crede, che ci abbiano dato il menù? Tutto il corso laureati, in blocco, era destinato alle scrivanie. Solo i Medici hanno fatto qualche imbarco. L’unica incognita era la locazione della scrivania, se vicino o lontano da casa. Tanto è vero, che eravamo carne da sedia, che uno dei corsi più importanti era quello su “Le comunicazioni scritte”, come redigere e protocollare una lettera, normativa SMM18.
